Altered: Reworked Luxe Projects

The Original

I am still on my rework kick. Before I can finish one project, I often come up with at least two more rework ideas. Here are the latest completed projects...

Denim Redone
There are many details that I really loved about my denim jacket by Rick Owens...
  • The extra-long sleeves
  • The cropped back
  • The horizontal boning in the cropped back
  • The ruffled, swing-style front draping
Yet I still felt the urge to add my own touches. My changes (see picture below) include adding faux fox fur and leather epaulettes to up the dramatic factor.

After Alterations

Raw Edge Embellishment
My lavender Gianfranco Ferre sweater was nice... It had funky tucking details on the shoulder, a deep back V and a strap across the top of the back V.

I loved the shoulder detailing, but didn't want the focus to be on my broad shoulders. So I decided to add a little edge ... I made the bottom hem raw and added a little something extra courtesy of a funky, deconstructed shirt that I found years ago at a Parisian import wholesaler's sample sale in New York. I increased the visual interest to control the eye flow vertically.

Update: Before & After
I just finished changing this Love Moschino sweater.

Last Update
I decided to combine my Celine and Vivienne Westwood Anglomania tees.
