My Latest Creative Jewelry Projects

I was a little under the weather - Just in time for the July 4th holiday weekend (my luck). However, I kept jotting down jewelry ideas that popped into my head during my less uncomfortable moments.

Here are a couple of the projects I finally tried out...

Project I: Reworked Necklace
I bought this heart-shaped necklace on the web some time ago. Unfortunately, the garnet-enclosed stone turned out to be a lab-made stone and a cheap looking one at that. I was very disappointed and refused to wear it.

However, I still loved the metalwork. My solution was to just pry it open, remove the stone and wire the two parts together to create a 3-D effect. I recently added a stone that I had previously purchased and placed in a pendant setting. I'm very happy with the final results.

Update: I decided to do a little more tweaking...

Project II: Charm Bracelet
This project is one of my visions-turned-into-reality. I combined old and new jewelry supplies to create an exotically elegant charm bracelet. I instantly fell love with the exotic beads when I stumbled upon them years ago. I also added my personal "flavor" to the bracelet via the leaf toggle and the silk gold tassel.

I seems that I can't stop thinking of ways to add a next level of drama...

Update Two: I decided to try out a different chain, swap out the tassel (I reused it with a funky corded necklace that I also made.), and update & add beads/gemstones ... I essentially redid the bracelet.

Here are the results of one of the additional projects that I completed...
