I love well made, elegant shoes with a funky edge. I like the look of many "dog and pony" shoes ... Shoes that are high, beautiful and basically created for looking good when you exit a car, walk into a venue, and sit down (I more than likely would kill myself in them, which is why I like to call them "suicides".).
I find that there is quite a difference between the popular shoes that look great and the great-looking shoes that I actually tend to buy. I know my limitations ... Any heel higher than three inches turns me into an accident-prone klutz.
I learned this the hard way ... My "crazy-klutz" moments have included getting my heel caught in a grate (A nice man helped me get it out), stepping onto a wet cable access cover (It was painted to look like pebbled concrete) and sliding to my knees James Brown style (All I needed was the cape), and just losing my balance and damn-near flat out falling.
In addition to avoiding the klutz moments, I'm also very pro-comfort ... Especially when I'm on move and on a deadline (which is often the case). Beautiful but and painful, high heels just are not a good option for me.
Here are some of the fab and funky functional shoes that I'm loving at the moment...
