A Very Practical Indulgence

Some time ago, I fell in love with a beautiful lace bralette that I found on Etsy. The sophisticated lace detail and construction of this hand made racerback style is stunning. This is a well-made bralette:
  • The lace feels great and doesn't cause any irritation to my sensitive skin.
  • The light padding fits perfectly and, again, is irritation-free.
  • There is stretch added to ensure that the straps and band at the bottom fit well without rubbing or binding.

Tatiana, the talented designer and creator of Tatiana's Threads, is all about the details. In addition to focusing on the detailed construction of each item, she also pre-washes all of the fabrics used in a non-allergic detergent to prevent shrinkage and irritation.

Now, I'm all for getting lingerie that makes you feel special and sexy but this piece actually delivers on another practical need ... It is a very flattering alternative for women who prefer to wear a bra with styles that feature drape or sheer backs and thin straps.

One thing that I loved about the Carrie Bradshaw character in "Sex & the City" is that, aside from being viewed as a fashion icon (she was a major factor in making Manolo Blahnik a household name), she was fearlessly realistic about wearing support for the 'girls'. I truly related to this aspect of her persona ... I have often loved many runway looks but questioned the wearability of the design.

I actually thought of Carrie when I found this bralette. I wanted support, but I also wanted something that did not look like the standard bra ... Bra straps can, frankly speaking, detract from a polished look (see the pic of Carrie in pink and pearls above).

I have paired my bralette with drape and sheer back tops. The results have been fabulous ... It adds a sophisticated and glamorously feminine touch.

I've added a few more pictures of her exquisite pieces below.
