H&M Ventures into South America

H&M will open its first store in South America. The flagship store will open in the first half of 2013 in Chile. The selected location is the Costanera Center; a shopping mall in Santiago de Chile, Chile.
"We are very excited to announce the opening of the first H&M store in South America, in Santiago de Chile, Chile. It is our first step into the Southern hemisphere, and we see great potential for further expansion in this fashion conscious region. We look forward to bringing fashion and quality at the best price to the Chilean customers", says Karl-Johan Persson, CEO at H&M.
The H&M Group currently has approximately 2,600 stores in 44 markets, including franchise markets. The group includes the brands COS, Monki, Weekday and Cheap Monday as well as H&M.
