Marni is the Next Designer to Partner with H&M

Yes, it's true. Marni will do a collection for H&M. The collection, available March 8, 2012 in around 260 stores worldwide and online, features both clothing and accessories all at H&M’s prices, meaning everyone will have the chance to enter Marni’s world.
“I wanted to create a true Marni wardrobe by revisiting all our favorite pieces in signature fabrics and prints. As always, I love juxtaposing prints and colours, mixing modern tribal with Bauhaus graphic adding sporty utilitarian elements”. Consuelo Castiglioni, Founder and Creative Director.

Marni’s collection, with all-over prints in strong colours is intended to be worn together in layers that both match and clash. For women, the colours are vivid and the prints are bold, be they African-inspired or simpler colour blocks. The silhouettes are Marni staples, with full pleated skirts, dresses, cropped trousers and jacquard knit, and fabrics range from silk to crisp cotton poplin. The collection also includes jewellery, shoes, bags and scarves.

Tonight's British Fashion Awards

Tonight's British Fashion Awards has a new category; the New Establishment Award.

The industry experts created a new category to seek and recognise a particular movement in British fashion that is taking the industry by storm ... The type of sophisticated innovation, from London's new establishment, that has been commanding front row audiences only previously seen at the shows of long-established luxury fashion brands for the last four seasons.

London’s New Establishment category is personified by its inaugural three nominees: Christopher Kane, Erdem and Jonathan Saunders.

Just in Time for The Holidays from Gucci

The Gucci team sent me an ad that included this bag. I zeroed in on it ... It seemed to be the essence of the upcoming holiday festivities channeled into a bag. Can't you just visualize it next to a flute of champagne?

Dolce & Gabbana's Latest Project

Bar Martini is a collaboration between Martini and Dolce&Gabbana.

Guests are welcomed with a "total black" look: the only hint of colour is a red dragon rising from the floor of this place of relaxation, jealously guarded within Milan's flagship Dolce & Gabbana Uomo boutique. The interior garden completes the experience.

You'll Want to Sink Your Feet Into These Boots

From the fur trim at the top to the super-comfy, soft suede of the shaft, these boots from Max Mara just call to you. Plus they're functional. The Boots also has lacing at the top to ensure a snug fit and that they won't fall down.

How would I describe them? I 'd say they're heavenly.

Would You be Open to Dining in the Dark?

Paris restaurant Dans le Noir, opened in 2004 and was, at that time, one of a handful of restaurants around the globe that served their diners in total darkness.

The premise is that in the dark, your senses are more aware of the taste, smells and texture of the food ... your experience will therefore become more enjoyable.

The Dark Dining phenomena came to the United States via the restaurant Opaque.

Opaque has three locations; San Francisco, San Diego, and Santa Monica.
"Just imagine, that you can not see for an hour or two, that you are abandoning vision in exchange for a new, multi-sensual dining experience. Opaque is enhancing our senses of taste, smell, touch, and hearing by abandoning one that we often take for granted – this is “Dining in the Dark”."
You will be guided and served by visually-impaired or blind staff.

The meal consists of your choice of an appetizer, entrée and dessert, and costs $99.00, plus drinks.
For more information on Opaque – dining in the dark, go to: Opaque.

Twelve Things I'd Like to Buy from Wedding Site BHLDN

I don't normally think of looking at a wedding site when I'm shopping. But after I recently was introduced to a member of the BHLDN (pronounced beholden) creative team, I decided to take a look.

What I found was a new perspective.

Tempting Cold Weather Splurges

I decided to visit the Kenneth Cole store yesterday because:
  1. My intention was to look at sweaters ... I am not a big fan of cold weather.
  2. I like that he supports causes like Aids Awareness.

My search was derailed when I glimpsed this faux fur and knit long scarf (the picture doesn't do it justice). It was fabulous and cozy ... Do I really need to say more? It was just the perfect fit for me ... someone who loves escapism.

I also added a two more cold weather treats:
