Designers Whose Designs I Keep Thinking About

Haider Ackermann

I saw this designer's collection for the first time this season and know I'll look for his work every season going forward.  I'd say his style is "Elegant Rocker".  His technique is more architectural, yet very wearable.  Although the styles are very detailed, they still look comfortable.

Pedro Lourenco

The designs are complex and very edgy.  I love the gleam of the very structured, yet soft-looking rich, luxe leather.  This is true craftsmanship.

Chado Ralph Rucci

Ralph Rucci stepped away from his norm to make this collection a little less couture.  His work still has my devoted loyalty.  I've loved his work since I first saw him on the show, "Behind the Velvet Ropes", with Lauren Ezersky.   I'm still enraptured with his beautiful creations.

Donna Karan

I just keep saying WOW the more I look at this collection.  It's sexy, dark, sophisticated ... just beautiful.  Donna not only demonstrates her skills with amazing technique, but also mouth-watering luxe materials and sexy draping.  I LOVED this collection ... It was a struggle to decide which pictures to post.  Go Donna!!

Fresh Look from Designer Label Missoni

There were many designs that were styled beautifully this season.  Here are a few that truly caught my attention:

Missoni

I'm not sure what has inspired Angela Missoni but I'm loving the new look of the last two seasons.  Her last two collections have a distinctly exotic, nomadic layered look that's just not your typical Missoni.  I'd say it's a funky, cool look that can be dressed up or down.

While there are touches of the classic Missoni weaving, the colors and even the patterns, have a fresh look.  They're softer, muted for the Spring/Summer Collection.

The Fall/Winter Collection had the stronger, classic Missoni colors, but with a new twist as well; the weight and draping of the pieces was less structured.  There were amazing pieces that had me instantly planning my future purchases.  This line is one of the few splurges I will submit to (resolution for the New Year - to adhere to shopping budget limits).

New Designers That Showed at Milan Fashion Week A/W 2010

Here's a look at a few designers that are peeking their heads above the radar ... catching the eyes of the beautiful people - they showed at Milan Fashion Week:

Albino - I've been watching this label for the last two seasons and had made a mental note to myself to look for their show.  Their designs have the elements I tend to be drawn to ... elegance with a little funky touch.

Haute - This is a label that adds a unique twist on the classics with lots of great details.  I just saw this line for the first time last night ... airing on FTV.

Marco De Vencenzo - Beautiful color combinations and draping.  I hope to see a lot more of this designer.
