What I'm Loving This Moment

Versace Home is stealing my heart at the moment!

This whiskey tumbler is just beautiful. The faceted, fluted crystal with the label's trademark Medusa carving in the clear bottom (see top picture) is amazing on it's own.

Then combine that unusual feature with the striking top view (see the picture below) ... It's so stunning that I keep going back to look at it.

The label is actually Versace

by Rosenthal.

A little background info:

Karen Millen was founded in 1981 by business partners Kevin Stanford and Karen Millen. With a loan of just £100, the pair bought one hundred metres of white cotton and began manufacturing and selling white shirts to their friends.

plan network followed, and in 1983 they opened their first store in Kent. More branches soon followed a few years later in Tunbridge Wells, Brighton, Guildford and London.

Designer Focus: Debora Sinibaldi

Some shots from the Debora Sinibaldi AW0809 Collection

I first noticed Debora Sinibaldi in the Fall 2008 runway photos supplement that came with the Vogue Italia Black issue I was lucky enough to get on eBay.

The alternatively detailed and floaty knits immediately caught my eye. I, of course being the addict to luxe details, went to Yoox in search of her pieces and fortunately found a lightweight black, sleeveless sweater.

That sounds simple enough until you notice it's light enough to layer (damn near see-through) or wear in the summer, has cream trim on the arm openings, delicate tucks at the neckline for controlled rouching and a larger weave just below the rouching to create a set of slightly diagonal see-through, cut-out-like lines with a beaded, darker line (by just strictly using weaving techniques) below the above-mention cut-out lines, and a cut-out line to simulate a scoop-neck ... gotta love that kind of luxe detail.

Okay, I'm back from my tangent.

Debora Sinibaldi has been showing her collections since 2005. She is known for what Suzy Menkes, of the Herald Tribune, calls her "standout knits".

Let's put it this way ... I still have that runway supplement, and her page is dog-eared because I periodically still look at those pictures (I put some of them above). They, and much more, are on her site: Debora Sinibaldi.
